Political murders, executions, and the flames of racial enmity: for the first time this is the untold story behind the 1977 Bermuda race riots. Ugly disturbances rocked the holiday Island - a seemingly peaceful paradise to the outside world, but within Bermuda had been a hotbed of growing discontent and racial enmity, simmering since the brutal murders of an English governor, police commissioner and two businessmen. After the two black Bermudians were hanged in the killings, unrest exploded into the worst violence ever seen causing more deaths and destruction.
