Separated as young children by race, religion and ego, fraternal twins, Eve and Ruth struggle to overcome far more than vast physical differences.

Eve
Where is my mother? Why did she leave me behind and take my twin? I’m a stereotypical Pastor’s Kid struggling to live up to the expectations of a very strict father and the church. Religion has kept me grounded but I can’t fully commit to my faith, knowing my salvation is at risk, unless I can learn to forgive. As the mystery unfolds about the path my parents created for me, I’m torn between digging deeper to reveal the truth behind family secrets or exposing one of my own.

Ruth
A black father, a white mother. Who am I? I am a rebel, experimenting with all aspects of life.  I am hyper-aware of my privilege as a woman who can pass as white. It’s not about what the color of my skin affords me; rather what it doesn’t.  I’m trying to search for a connection to my African roots and an opportunity to find acceptance but I must first overcome the burning hatred towards my father for his refusal to accept me and the church that supports his betrayal.
